ARTful Conversations

How do we look at art? How do we write a poem about a painting or sculpture? What are we looking for to help us understand? ARTful Conversations, a new program by Brand Associates, brings the community together in a collaborative workshop to learn about art history and the ease of writing poetry inspired by the art.

During these workshops, art historian Valerie Taylor and poet Tina Demirdjian educate and engage participants to explore, discover, and develop a personal connection to exhibits in Brand’s Gallery. Learn art history relating to the current exhibit and then write a poem inspired by the artwork.

At least one workshop is held during each exhibit. The next program will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 6-7:30pm at Brand Gallery during the Don’t Believe Everything You Think exhibition.
